Registration for CAT 2019 are open and
the race for admission to IIM has started. We are providing important
information on CAT 2019 which may be used fully for the students/ applicants.
The Registrations can be done till 18 September,
2019 for the admission to prestigious 20 IIM for Post Graduation in Business
Management. Other than IIM, some other
business schools also accept the CAT score for the admission process to their
colleges/ Institutes.
This year, the CAT entrance Exam will
be conducted on 24 November 2019. The exam will be in two sessions. For registration and exam, the following are some
useful information:-
FEE
for Registration: Rs. 1900/-
for General category. Rs. 950/- for SC/ST/ Physically Handicapped
Educational
Qualifications: Minimum 50% marks in
Graduation Degree or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university. For SC/ST
candidates, this minimum percentage is 45.
IIM
Selection Process: On the basis of written exam, IIM shortlists students for the first phase of admission.
Different IIM has their own way of setting cut-off on scores of various
sections of the exam. The complete admission process involves CAT score, Group
discussion, and personnel interviews. Students appearing in the final year of
graduation should submit a certificate from Principal/ Registrar of their
University/Institute at the time of group discussion. The admission is done
provisionally. However, the final Degree/ Mark sheet can be submitted before
December 31, 2020, failing which the admission will be treated automatically
canceled.
CAT
Syllabus: The exam is online. The question paper is in three parts. Verbal
Ability in the first part, Data interpretation in the second part and quantitative
ability in the third part. There is a total of 100 questions. 34 in the first part, 32 in the second part and 34 in the third part. Questions are of multiple choice type. Three
marks for correct/ most appropriate answer, negative one mark for wrong
answered a question. However, there is no deduction of marks for the not attempted
question. The total time allowed is 180 minutes that means 60 minutes for each
part.
