For qualified candidates, IBPS Clerk Mains exam 2020 is a gateway for recruitment to Clerical posts in 17 participating banks. This is not a very tough exam but very important from a recruitment point of view. Several Lakh candidates appear in this exam for finally cracking the exam for grabbing an appointment letter.

Final Score:

There will be 190 questions of 200 maximum marks to be done in a time limit of 160 minutes. There will be 25% negative marking for wrong answers.

For making the merit list after the Mains exam, the score of prelim exams is not considered. Therefore the scoring in the main exam is important.

Focus on Scoring Topics:

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Though there is sectional cut off, the overall score will be considered for making the final merit list. So focus on your scoring subjects/ sections more to make your overall score high.

Attempt Mock tests:

Attempt IBPS Clerk mains mock test papers as many as you can.
Before attempting next mock paper, analyze your performance of attempted mock paper and plan accordingly for next mock paper. Online mock papers are the best and only way of improving your score and getting confidence.
After attempting each mock paper, study the solutions to each question.

Make a strategy:

It is important to attempt easy questions in the first round. If your strategy is not proper, it may be difficult to reach up to the last question. Don’t waste your time on difficult questions. In first-round make sure to attempt most of the easy questions. This will allow you to score maximum as you have attempted maximum questions which you can easily do without leaving them. In case you get time then go for other left questions in the further round.

Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude:

This section has 50 questions for 60 maximum marks. Solve non-descriptive questions first. Puzzles should be solved in the last. Make a habit of drawing diagrams and use paper rather than solving reasoning questions verbally.

Negative Marking:

Do not guess as there is a 25% negative marking for wrong answers. This will reduce your scoring marks.

Time and Speed:

Attempting 190 questions in 160 hours is not an easy task. Attempting mock papers will give you total information on the statistic of a number of questions attempted and time taken. You can judge yourself to improve on-time and speed. There is a sectional time limit as well. You can attempt mock papers on section-wise initially. This will give you information on which section you need improvement. Later on, you can attempt complete exam paper in one go.

Don’t start studying new topics:

As only a few days are left, don’t start new topics for study. Revise your already prepared topics. Revision makes you refresh with your knowledge transferring from secondary memory (books and notes) to your main memory (brain). More and more you revise content, your confidence level will boost. Be confident before the exam that you have done your best preparation and will succeed in the examination.
